ACI 318-1977 Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete (ACI 318-77) and Commentary on Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete (ACI 318R-77)
This code provides minimum requirements for design and construction of reinforced concrete structural elements of any structure erected under requirements of the general building code of which this code forms a part. This code supplements the general bulldlng code and shall govern in all matters pertaining to design and construction wherever this code is in conflict with requirements in the general building code. This code shall govern in all matters pertaining to design@ construction@ and material properties wherever this coda is in conflict with requirements contained in other specifications and recommended practices referenced in this code. For special structures@ such as arches@ tanks@ reservoirs@ bins and silos@ blast-resistant structures@ and chimneys@ provisions of this code shall govern where applicable. This code does not govern design and installation of portions of concrete piles and drilled piers embedded in ground.
