This regulation is concerned with the requirements for the lateral protection (side guards) of trucks and trailers having maximum mass exceeding 3.5 tones used for the carriage of goods. This regulation does not apply to tractors for semi trailers and vehicles designed and constructed for special purposes where it is not possible for practical reasons to fit such lateral protection
