DISCUSSION Discussion item submitted by: Sam Russell@ Sensata Technologies Sam Russell requested STP member input on expanding the voltage rating of the devices covered by the scope of UL 1699B from 1000 V to 1500 V. UL noted that if the voltage is increased@ the spacing requirements would need to be revised and that UL 1741@ the Standard for Inverters@ Converters@ Controllers and Interconnection System Equipment for Use With Distributed Energy Resources@ and UL 489B@ the Outline for Molded-Case Circuit Breakers@ Molded-Case Switches@ and Circuit-Breaker Enclosures For Use With Photovoltaic (PV) Systems@ could be referenced as examples. STP members expressed support for this proposal and formed a Task Group to develop the necessary requirements to increase the voltage to 1500 V. See the end of this report for Task Group members.
