This standard applies to installation wires and cables intended for intra-instrument and inter-instrument installation in subway rolling stock equipment for operation at voltages up to 600 V inclusive alternating current with a frequency of up to 10,000 Hz or up to 840 V inclusive direct current. This standard establishes the basic requirements for the design and technical characteristics of wires and cables, as well as requirements for their testing and operation. The requirements of this standard may not apply to cables and wires for metro rolling stock that were developed before the standard came into effect.
