Scope
ESDU AERO 00.01.08 gives graphs of the ratio of specific heat capacities (gamma) at one atmosphere pressure for air@ argon@ carbon dioxide and monoxide@ helium@ hydrogen@ nitrogen@ oxygen and steam as a function of temperature over the range from the onset of liquefaction to the onset of dissociation. A sketch shows pressure-temperature boundaries defining a maximum error in applying the curves of one per cent in the value of gamma minus one. A second sketch shows pressure-temperature boundaries for a one per cent error in calculating specific heat capacities on the assumption that the gas is thermally perfect.
