- This standard specifies the yield, quality, stress resis ance and other indicators that corn (Zea mays L.) varieties should have for national approval. This standard is applicable to corn variety approval by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Variety Approval Committee), and is applicable to corn varieties recommended to the Variety Approval Committee by the national crop variety testing authorities.
