What is ISO 20320 about?
ISO 20320 discusses protective clothing for use in snowboarding. The wrist is the most frequently injured body part among snowboarders. The majority of wrist injuries are consequences of falls. Good quality wrist protectors can mitigate this risk.
ISO 20320 specifies the requirements and test methods for snowboarding wrist protectors. Aspects discussed in ISO 20320 include ergonomics, innocuousness, comfort/ sizing, restraint, ability to limit wrist extension and attenuate impact force on the palm as well as provisions for marking and instructions supplied by the manufacturer for wrist protectors used by snowboarders.
Note 1: ISO 20320 does not apply to protectors used in roller sports, alpine skiing, or other sports.
