Scope
This European Standard specifies requirements for long products and flat products in hot-rolled weathering steels (alloyed special steels according to EN 10020) in the strength classes and qualities mentioned in table 3 (chemical composition) and tables 5 and 6 (mechanical properties) in the usual delivery condition as mentioned in 7.2. The thicknesses in which products of the steel types and qualities specified in this European Standard can be supplied are given in Table 2. The application of this standard for larger thicknesses must be agreed upon when ordering. Option 1. The steel grades specified in this European Standard are intended for use in welded, bolted and riveted structural parts, which must have increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion, for use at ambient temperature (with the limitations according to 7.5.1). The steel types are not intended for heat treatment, except for products delivered in delivery condition N. Stress-relieved annealing is permitted. Products supplied in the N-state can be annealed and hot-formed normally after delivery (see Chapter 3). 2 This European Standard does not apply to steels for use in the applications referred to in 1.1 for which specific EURONORMS exist or European Standards relating to steels for general construction applications are in preparation:  ——unalloyed structural steels (see EN 10025) ;  ——steel types for simple pressure vessels (see EN 10207);  ——plate and strip of unalloyed steel for pressure vessels (see EN 10028 part 1-3);  ——reinforcing steel ((not prestressing steel) (see prEN 10080)1);  ——weldable fine-grained construction steel (see EN 10113 part 1-3);  ——hot-formed tube profiles for construction purposes (see EN 10210-1).
