- Scope
- This document specifies the functional requirements and design principles for the emergency stop function of the machine, and is applicable to the emergency stop function using any form of energy. This document applies to all machinery except the following two types of machines: --- machines whose emergency stop function does not reduce the risk; --- hand-held machines or manual machines. This document does not apply to functions such as reversal or restriction of movement, deflection of discharges (e.g. radiation, liquids), shielding, braking or disconnection in emergency stop functions. Note: See IEC60204 1 for the requirements of the emergency stop function realized by electrical/electronic technology.
