This document specifies the requirements for dental polymer-based restorative materials. This type of material is provided in a form suitable for mechanical mixing, manual blending, or activation by external energy inside and outside the mouth, and is mainly used for direct or indirect repair and cementation of teeth. Polymer-based cementing materials covered by this document are materials used for the cementation or retention of restorations and restorative devices such as inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns and bridges. This document does not cover polymer-based cementitious materials containing adhesive components (see ISO/TS 16506). This document does not cover dental polymer-based materials used to prevent dental caries (see YY 0622), post and core materials, or veneer materials used on metal bases (see YY 0710).
