Scope

This standard specifies the measuring instruments and methods for measuring the volume concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) in the exhaust gas of road gasoline vehicles under idling conditions. This standard applies to vehicles equipped with gasoline engines, with a maximum gross mass greater than 400kg and a maximum design speed equal to or greater than 50km/h. This standard also applies to gasoline engines for vehicles.
