ESDU 71027 presents the results of approximately 1100 fatigue tests on plain and notched specimens (with notch stress concentration factors in the range of 1 to 3.2) as a basis for endurance curves for various types of high strength steel: 1% Cr-Mo@ 3% Cr-Mo@ 1% Ni-Cr-Mo@ 2% Ni-Cr-Mo@ martensitic stainless@ precipitation hardening martensitic stainless@ austenitic stainless and maraging steels. The low alloy steels are also correlated to show the general effect of the material tensile strength on the endurance curves.
