Scope

This document stipulates the terms and definitions, basic requirements, construction organization, work requirements and usage requirements involved in elevator repair, maintenance and safety management. This document applies to the repair, maintenance and use of traction and forced drive elevators, hydraulic drive elevators, escalators and moving walkways (hereinafter referred to as elevators). This document does not apply to elevators and miscellaneous elevators installed in non-public places and used only by a single family.
