Scope

This standard specifies the diagnosis and differential diagnosis, syndrome differentiation, treatment, outcome (prognosis), contraindications and caution of manic episodes. This standard applies to the diagnosis and treatment of manic episodes. This standard does not apply to the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia and secondary mood disorders.
