Scope
This part of GB/T 18329 specifies the non-destructive penetrant inspection method for the determination of bearing joint defects and sliding surface defects (ie surface discontinuities). This method is suitable for testing: a) The end faces and counter faces of multi-layer sliding bearings are located in the transition area between the bearing backing and the bearing alloy material, and the joint defects that cannot be ultrasonically inspected according to GB/T18329.1. b) Defects on the sliding surface of the bearing. Penetration testing is generally carried out after finishing the multi-layer plain bearing. The inspection of joint defects is usually applicable to multi-layer sliding bearings whose backing material is steel, cast steel or cast bronze, and can also be used for auxiliary inspection of joint defects in the processing of bearing products made of other bearing materials. Bearing backing materials that cannot be tinned or are difficult to be tinned, such as pearlitic special cast iron materials, stainless steel or cast aluminum, cannot be tested for bonding defects by this method because there is no bonding layer between the bearing backing and the bearing alloy material.
