Scope

This standard specifies requirements specific to increased safety construction of electrical equipment. This standard applies to electrical equipment with increased safety explosion-proof construction that does not produce arcs, sparks, or dangerous temperatures during normal operation with AC or DC rated voltages of less than 11 kV. Note that matters common to each explosion-proof structure that are not specified in this standard shall be in accordance with JIS C 0930.
