This Standard specifies the requirements for distribution (power)@ control@ and signal cables for use aboard commercial ships and mobile offshore drilling units (MODU??S)@ rated 8000 V maximum@ in single or multiconductor construction@ with or without metal armour@ and with or without an overall jacket. This Standard may not cover all types@ sizes@ and voltage ratings of marine shipboard cable that may be required for particular applications. The performance requirements of this Standard include the petformance requirements of IEEE Standard 45-1983.
