PURPOSE: The purpose of this ARP is to set forth a standardized dash numbering system for a-rings for eventual replacement of the variety of conflicting and overlapping systems now in use. It is intended to be used as a guide in the preparation of any future Company@ Military or other Standard Drawings for a-rings. Each dash number@ which should be appended to an appropriate Drawing or Standard number@ identifies one nominal size a-ring only. No attempt is made in this ARP to indicate which of the a-ring sizes listed under this system should be included in any particular Standard Drawing. Its only purpose is to standardize a-ring sizes and the means of identifying them.
