Scope
Form: This specification covers a corrosion and heat resistant nickel alloy in the form of bars@ forgings@ flash welded rings@ and stock for forging@ flash welded rings@ or heading. Application: Primarily for parts@ such as turbine rotors@ shafts@ bolts@ dowels@ and fittings@ requiring high strength up to 1600??(871?? and oxidation resistance up to 1800??(982??. Classification: Alloy supplied to this specification is classified as follows: Type 1- Vacuum induction melted followed by vacuum arc consumable electrode remelting Type 2- Vacuum induction melted followed by electroslag remelting. Class A- Alloy without trace element control of lead@ bismuth@ and selenium Class B- Alloy with trace element control of lead@ bismuth@ and selenium Type 1 shall be supplied unless purchaser specifies Type 2. Either Class A or Class B can be supplied unless a specific Class is specified.
