This procedure describes laboratory tests for establishing operating characteristics of hydraulic directional control valves used on mobile industrial and construction equipment as referenced in SAW J1116. These characteristics are to be submitted??one at 122??(50?? and one at 194??(90??. A separate set of data sheets is to be submitted for the cylinder ports closest to@ and farthest from the inlet and outlet ports of a multiple section valve. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROCEDURE IS TO: 1. Establish conditions for directional control valve tests. 2. Outline a procedure for conduct of test. 3. Establish a method of presenting directional control valve test data. The procedure covers the following determinations: 1. Pressure drop. 2. Leakage rate. 3. Operating effort. 4. Metering characteristics. 5. Relief valve characteristics.
