Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions for phased array ultrasonic testing of welded joints of polyethylene (PE) pipelines for gas use, testing personnel, method summary, testing equipment, basic requirements, testing preparation, testing system setup and calibration, testing procedures, testing Data analysis, defect assessment and inspection reports. This standard is applicable to the phased array ultrasonic testing of electric fusion joints and hot melt butt joints with nominal diameters of 75mm to 400mm in polyethylene pipelines for gas use. The phased array ultrasonic inspection of welded joints in other polyethylene pipes can be implemented as a reference.
