Scope 1.1 This standard covers non-recirculating toilets, suction toilets and holding tanks and sets out requirements for a) design; b) materials; c) components; d) construction and finish; e) testing; f) installation; g) operation; and h) markings. 1.2 This standard applies to non-recirculating toilets and suction toilets a) connected to a water distribution network; b) whose evacuation takes place in a retention tank; and (c) intended for camping vehicles. 1.3 Values shown in SI units are the official values in this standard. Values in parentheses are given for information and comparison purposes only. 1.4 In CSA standards, the term “shall” indicates a requirement, that is, a requirement that the user must follow to ensure compliance with the standard; “should” indicates a recommendation or what is advisable but not obligatory to do; and “may” indicates a possibility or what is permitted to be done.
