This International Standard specifies a method for the compression testing of metallic bearing materials. Compression testing within the meaning of this International Standard serves for the determination of the behavior of metallic materials under uniaxial compression loading which is uniformly distributed over the Cross-section. For this purpose, a cylindrical specimen with an original Cross-section So is subjected to compression which is slowly and continuously increased, and the compressive forte used is measured.
