This document specifies the specimen size, sample requirements and test procedures for self-restrained thermal crack tests such as T-joint weld crack tests, weld metal tensile tests, and longitudinal bending tests. This document is mainly applicable to the evaluation of hot crack susceptibility of austenitic stainless steel, nickel, nickel-based and nickel-copper welding materials, and can also be used to evaluate other weld metals, but it is not applicable to the evaluation of base metals, nor does it give any acceptance criteria.
