Scope: This document defines the terms and definitions involved in additive manufacturing technology, as well as related abbreviations for additive manufacturing coordinate systems and test methods. This document is intended for additive manufacturing users, producers, researchers, educators, publishers/media and others, and can be used to report test results of parts produced by additive manufacturing systems. The definition of the coordinate system for the position and orientation of the machine/system and the parts it contains is included in the terminology, with the aim of being compatible with GB/T 19660 where possible, and clarifying the applicability of these principles in additive manufacturing. Note 1: This document does not deal with the suitability assessment on surface cladding. Note 2: This document does not deal with non-Cartesian systems. This document does not contain the treatment of all security issues. It is the responsibility of the user of this document to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of limitations prior to use.
