Scope

This standard specifies the personnel requirements, test instruments, pre-inspection preparation, hardness measurement, test result evaluation, records and reports for the D-type portable Leeb hardness test method for on-site metal material hardness testing. This standard is applicable to the hardness testing of large metal workpieces, components (>5kg), welded joints and surfacing metal using portable hardness testers with D-type impact devices. The hardness measurement range of the inspected workpiece is 300HL ~ 890HL.
