Scope

This part specifies the scope, function configuration, protection coordination and principles for protection setting calculation of the Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC). This section applies to unified power flow controller protection (hereinafter referred to as UPFC protection) using modular multilevel converters (MMC) for voltage levels of 220kV and 500kV. Unified power flow controller protection equipment of other types and voltage levels may be implemented as a reference.
