- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic requirements, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labels, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage, and quality commitments of code-free portable blood glucose meters (hereinafter referred to as blood glucose meters). This standard applies to portable and code-free blood glucose monitoring instruments (usually including blood glucose meters, disposable test strips and quality control substances) for in vitro monitoring of glucose concentration in human capillary whole blood and/or venous whole blood.
