Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, conditions of use, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of high-voltage shunt capacitor device discharge coils. This document applies to single-phase fully sealed oil-immersed and dry discharge coils used in high-voltage parallel capacitor devices with a rated frequency of 50 Hz and a voltage level of 6 kV to 66 kV. The high-voltage winding of the discharge coil is connected in parallel with the high-voltage well-connected capacitor bank, so that the residual voltage of the capacitor can be reduced to the required value within a specified time after the capacitor is removed from the power system. When the discharge coil has a secondary winding, it can be used both for voltage measurement and for providing voltage signals for relay protection.
