Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic conditions, preparation before inspection, inspection implementation, and evaluation of inspection results for periodic inspection of carbon steel and low alloy steel spherical storage tanks. Note 1: The following spherical tanks refer to carbon steel and low alloy steel spherical storage tanks. This standard is applicable to spherical tanks of the orange-petal type or hybrid type supported by pillars that are within the scope of pressure vessels with a design pressure greater than or equal to 0.1MPa and less than or equal to 4MPa. The design temperature range applicable to this standard is determined based on the allowable service temperature of the steel. This standard does not apply to the following spherical tanks: a) Spherical tanks subject to nuclear radiation; b) Spherical tanks subject to relative motion (such as vehicle or shipboard); c) Spherical tanks with a nominal volume less than 50m3; d) Fatigue analysis is required spherical tank; e) spherical tank with double shell structure;
