This standard describes the use of value analysis@ particularly in intangible products/processes in economy@ technology@ science@ and administration. The purpose of using value analysis in processes is to create transparency and encourage continuous improvement. Value analysis focuses on functional aspects of process steps with the aim of increasing their value (in terms of customer benefits/costs) and thus importantly enhances established methods that place special emphasis on the temporal relationships between the procedures. The value analysis work schedule and the crossfunctional approach between product and process design create further potential for optimisation. The standard also serves as a guide for training purposes@ as this is being represented and further developed by the VDI Society Product and Process Design.
