- This standard specifies the requirements for the implementation of pump system energy consumption assessment (hereinafter referred to as "assessment") and the formation of results reports, where the system includes the entire process from energy input to work output completed by this energy. The goal of evaluating pumping system energy consumption is to determine the current energy consumption of existing systems and to identify ways to improve system efficiency. These requirements include: — organizing and conducting the evaluation; — analyzing data from the evaluation; — reporting and archiving the results of the evaluation. This standard applies to open and closed circuit pumps commonly used in industrial, institutional, commercial and municipal installations requiring assessment. This standard applies to the assessment of predominantly electrically driven pump systems in most industrial installations, but is also applicable to other drive types such as steam turbines and engines. However, this standard: a) does not specifically specify how to design the pump system; b) does not specify the qualifications and professional knowledge that standard users should possess (Appendix C only specifies the professional knowledge, experience and ability requirements that assessors should possess); c) It does not involve the training or qualification of personnel; d) does not specify requirements for the implementation of recommendations made during the assessment process, but specifies requirements for the preparation of action plans; e) does not specify requirements for the measurement and verification of energy savings resulting from the implementation of assessment recommendations; f) Does not specify measurement requirements during the assessment process and calibration requirements for the measuring equipment used; g) does not specify cost estimates or financial analyzes for the implementation of recommendations made during the assessment process; h) does not specify specific steps required for safe operation of equipment during the assessment process . During the data collection phase of the assessment process, those responsible for the normal operation of the facility shall ensure the safety of the equipment operation; i) Intellectual property rights, security, confidentiality and safety are not involved.
