- This standard specifies the principles and requirements for the measurement of the ambient surface gamma radiation dose rate and the technical regulations to be followed. This standard is applicable to the determination of the gamma radiation dose rate on the surface of the environment near nuclear facilities and other radiation devices, and is also applicable to the determination of the gamma radiation dose rate on the surface of other environments.
