ESDU 77033 gives the results of some 200 fatigue tests taken from the literature presented as a non-dimensional alternating stress parameter (involving the stress concentration factor and material tensile strength) plotted against endurance. The data include axial and bending loading on forged bar@ bending loading on rolled and forged sheet@ and axial loading on machined cast specimens for which the effect of mean stress is also shown.
