- Scope
- This standard specifies the requirements for replaceable glow starters (hereinafter referred to as "starters") for preheated fluorescent lamps. Part 1 specifies the general and safety requirements that starters shall comply with. Part 2 specifies the performance requirements for starters. The additional requirements that glow starters for Class II fluorescent lamps should comply with are specified in Appendix B. Note: Starters are usually designed to start a range of lamps, the range of which depends on the supply voltage, the individual lamps operating in series, the maximum lamp voltage and the starting requirements of the lamp.
