- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and dimensional standards, expected performance, design attributes, materials, design evaluation, manufacturing, sterilization, packaging and information provided by the manufacturer for additively manufactured tantalum knee prostheses. This standard is applicable to related components with tantalum metal prostheses as the main components, excluding non-metallic friction interfaces, manufactured by powder fusion additive manufacturing processes using lasers or electron beams as energy sources.
