- Scope
- This standard applies to direct-acting electrical measuring instruments with a device for presenting readings in analog form, such as: ——ammeters and voltmeters; ——wattmeters and varmeters; ——pointer and vibration type frequency meters; ——phase meters, power factor meters and synchronoscopes; ——ohmmeters (devices for measuring impedance) and instruments for measuring active conductivity; ——multifunctional instruments of the above types. This standard applies to some auxiliary parts used with these devices, such as: ——shunts; ——additional resistances and resistance elements. This standard also applies to direct-acting electrical measuring instruments whose scale marks do not directly correspond to the values of the electrical input quantity, provided that the relationship between them is known. This standard applies to instruments and auxiliary parts containing electronic devices in their measuring and/or auxiliary circuits. This standard does not apply to special-purpose devices, which have their own standards. This standard does not apply to special purpose devices that have their own standards when used as auxiliary parts.
