Scope: This document specifies the construction, performance and type testing of gyrocompasses in accordance with the requirements of Regulation 19 of Chapter V of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974. This document specifies the minimum requirements, construction, performance and type testing of gyrocompasses in accordance with the performance standards adopted by IMO Resolution A.424(XI).
