This document specifies the minimum requirements and test methods for hand-held, spectacle-type, and head-mounted indirect ophthalmoscopes used to observe indirect fundus images. This document is applicable to hand-held, spectacle-type, and head-mounted indirect ophthalmoscopes. This document does not apply to condensers and accessories for indirect ophthalmoscopy. This document does not apply to instruments that are fixed to the table, nor to ophthalmoscopes used primarily for image capture and/or image processing, such as those using scanning laser technology.
