- This standard specifies the general requirements for ultrasonic testing of butt welded joints of P91 steel pressure equipment, testing methods, defect determination and rating. This standard is applicable to the use of A-type pulse reflection ultrasonic flaw detector to detect defects in butt welding joints of P91 steel pressure equipment. This standard does not apply to ultrasonic testing of pressure-bearing equipment pipes and pipeline circumferential butt welded joints with an outer diameter less than or equal to 159 mm.
