Scope: 1.1 This test method covers the determination of the moisture content in wood and is an alternative procedure for the oven drying method given in Sections 124 to 127 of Methods D 143. Its use is required when the wood contains volatile oils or oil preservative. The test method also covers the determination of the quantity of creosote or creosote-base preservative in treated wood. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
