- This document describes the test method for determining the insulation resistance of vulcanized rubber and thermoplastic rubber. This method no longer distinguishes between volume resistance and surface resistance. This document applies only to samples with a resistance greater than 108 Ω. Note: The test method for low resistance samples is described in ISO1853 and ISO2878. Because the sample is simple and easy to prepare, this method is especially suitable for situations where high-precision results are not required, but only general qualitative and rapid determination of resistance values is required.
