This document specifies the terms and definitions for non-destructive testing (NDT) of metal magnetic memory (MMM) technology, as well as the general technical requirements for the application of this method. The non-destructive testing techniques specified in this document have the following purposes: --- Determine the heterogeneity of the magnetic state of ferromagnetic objects, detect the degree of stress concentration caused by defects and the boundary of metal microstructure inhomogeneity; Distortion location for further microstructural analysis and/or non-destructive testing and evaluation; ——early damage diagnosis of the inspected object, evaluation of its structural life; ——new and used inspection by magnetic heterogeneity Rapid classification of objects for further inspection; — Magnetic memory combined with other nondestructive testing methods or techniques (ultrasonic testing, X-ray testing, etc.) Efficiency; ——for quality control and implementation of various types of welded joints (including friction welding and spot welding). See ISO24497 2 for specific applications.
