Scope: This document specifies the test method for the scratch performance of plastics under given conditions, including the formation of scratches and the evaluation of the results, as well as the optimum size of the test specimen and the optimum geometry of the scratch head. This document is intended for use in characterizing the scratching behavior of specific types of specimens under given scratching conditions. This document applies to thermoplastic molding materials and thermosetting molding materials with uncoated and unpainted surfaces.
