This Outline of Investigation covers requirements for the construction and performance of wet barrel fire hydrants intended for piping systems supplying water for fire-protection service for use on off-shore oil platforms or similar applications and environments. The requirements for wet barrel hydrants in the Standard for Hydrants for Fire Protection Systems@ UL 246 shall apply to these hydrants except that the requirements and tests contained herein supersede the construction requirements and the Corrosion Test@ where applicable.
