Scope: This document applies to three-phase synchronous motors with a rated power of 1kVA and above. The test methods in this document are mainly applicable to synchronous motors with field windings and collector rings and brushes in the field power supply circuit. Some tests for brushless synchronous motors require special treatment; for permanent magnet motors, the test methods described above are applicable There are limitations to the durability and special measures should be taken to prevent permanent demagnetization of the motor. This document does not apply to axial flux motors and special synchronous motors, such as induction motors, transverse flux motors and reluctance motors. Any or all of the test items described in this document are not required for any specified motor. Some specific tests can be carried out according to the agreement between manufacturer and customer.
