This standard specifies the radiation safety and protection principles for electron accelerator (electron beam and X-ray) irradiation devices, including requirements for dose control, division of radiation workplaces, radiation shielding, safety design, daily maintenance (management) and records. This standard applies to electron beam irradiation devices with an energy not higher than 10 MeV and X-ray irradiation devices with an energy not higher than 5 MeV for radiation processing. Self-shielding irradiation devices do not apply to this standard.
