ICONTEC 5-1992 In the steel industry, high-thickness carbon steel metal sheets and carbon steel hoops (made from high-temperature rolling) are used as rollers.
This standard covers hot-rolled carbon steel sheets and strips, commercial grade, drawing grade, special die-drawing grade, and structural grade. The latter can be ordered when the intention is to convert the rolls into steel sheets. 2 In case of any discrepancy with the requirements, those of the individual material specification must prevail over those of this general specification. 3 Annex Al lists the permissible variations in dimensions and mass (see note 1) in English System units. The values indicated there are not exact conversions of those of the International System indicated in the text of the standard, but rather rounded or rationalized values. Compliance with Annex 1 is mandatory when the supply of the material covered by this standard in units of the English System is expressly requested. Note 1: The term weight is used when inch-pound units appear in the standard. However, in the International System the preferred term is mass. 4 This standard indicates the normalized values in both the International and English Systems; However, these are not equivalent and their combination may cause inconsistencies with this standard.
