Scope

These Guidance Notes present acceptable practice for an important aspect in the Classification of self-elvevating drilling units(SEDUs). The technical crireria contained in these Guidance Notes are based on the results of a Joint Industry Project sponsored by Owners, Designers, Builders, Operators and Classification Societies.The criteria were subsequently published as Reference 1. That reference is sepecifically aimed at providing assessment criteria for the site-specific use of the SEDU.
