- This standard recommends the principles and general practices for selecting oil and casing under different service conditions in oil and natural gas exploration and development. Unless otherwise specified, the oil and casing mentioned in this standard shall include products such as casing, tubing, liner, plain pipe, pup joints and couplings (including blanks). This standard aims to meet the selection of oil and casing under different working conditions, determines the general principles for the selection of oil and casing, and recommends general practices for the selection of oil and casing according to the requirements of working conditions. In order to ensure the safety, reliability and service life of oil and casing pipes in use, this standard also puts forward basic requirements for quality control when selecting oil and casing pipes.
